With the recent “Wine Glut” in Australia, the inevitable consequence was that producers were forced to discount large quantities of wine to compete in the ever expanding market. In the middle of the glut, new labels were popping up everywhere in a last ditch effort to move their wines. However, many decided to discount their current wines and move them with the retailers as clean skins, or wine with no label or origin.

This has had the effect that many wines that you would once purchase for $25, were now on sale for $5, and some as low as $2.50, albeit without a label. Therefore there was an unprecedented opportunity for the buyer to find fantastic quality at rock bottom prices.
