2006 Castello del Poggio Moscato D’Asti DOCG, Portacomaro D’Asti
Colour: Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Straw
Nose:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Broad, with dusty hay and slight vinous characters
Palate:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Goes absolutely nuts in mouth with dissolved CO2 when freshly opened/poured, quite disconcerting. Sweet and round, some pleasant lychee, straw characters. Could do with a touch more acid to balance out the finish.
Price: Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â $13 AUD
Alcohol: Â Â Â Â Â 5.5% Alc/Vol
Variety: Â Â Â Â Â Â Moscato Bianco
Overall:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Not bad for the money. Big Tip - Shake vigorously and allow some CO2 to blow off after opening / before drinking.
