New Apple IPhone even has Wine Apps.

The wave of media hype and hords of Iphone fans queing up for the new release around the world this week may have some of you contemplating what the hell all the fuss is about. I was.  I’ve never even held and IPhone, let alone used one. However I was interested to here that in the list of over 500 new applications that can be programmed into the phone, there are a few aimed at the wine enthusiast.  I don’t live under a rock, but I can’t bring myself to purchase an Iphone just to store my wine notes or have a wine and food matching program at my fingertips when eating out at the local.

However I’m sure there a plenty of people out there who desperately need this service, ready to pull the trigger when faced with the prospect of drinking Sauvignon Blanc with a 1kg steak. “Oh dear god, what should I do.”

What are you going to do when the waiter asks, “Wine SIr?”  Wip out your Iphone and ask it to give you an answer?

Anyway, I do find it interesting that these apps are available, such as Wine Snob, a wine term, info, and wine and food pairing program, and Wine Log, a program used to take tasting notes on the run.

I must admit, anything that is educational and increases knowledge of wine and also passion, it’s a good thing for us, so I’m not completely indifferent to the worthiness of the IPhone.

For those of you who just have to have one, you can get more info and possibly purchase the IPhone at Shop-Online-4.com.

  1. I believe the 3G iPhone had some big technical problems upon launch which meant a lot of people who rushed out to buy one still can’t use it.

  2. Wine Snob just duid a great upgrade – you should check it out. You can do way more – logging, reading, learing and soon even mapping. Cheers!
