Sales of Champagne Going Through the Roof

This morning the BBC reported sales of champagne going through the roof as consumers drink supermarket bottles at home rather than in pubs. With the smoking ban and champagne being offered at heavy discounts, people are opting to buy their own bubbly. Sales of champagne at Sainsbury’s and Waitrose were up over 100% on last year.
