The Aberfeldy Single Malt Whisky lies at the heart of the Dewar's blends. At 12 years old this is a golden whisky, with an incense-like, heathery honey nose, and a syrupy palate that lingers like a liqueur. Full, golden yellow. Almost incense-like, heather honey with a fruity softness, notes of pineapple, toast and cereal. Syrupy, lingering on the tongue like a liqueur. Full bodied. Full flavour, the perfume characteristics become more spicy, with a bitter hint of Seville oranges in a decidedly dry finish.

This deep golden whisky has a pleasing heathery honey aroma and a full flavour with touches of Seville oranges, which linger on the tongue. Available in strictly limited quantities.

Aberlour is a pure single highland malt from Speyside. Aberlour was founded in 1826 by James Gordon and Peter Weir at the feet of Ben Rinnes, from whose slopes it draws its water and said to be an important characteristic of its distinctive flavour. The distillery was rebuilt in 1879 after a fire and it is this date which appears on the label. The Aberlour Glenvilet Distillery Company is a subsidiary of Campbell Distillers.

Aberlour a'bunadh is a natural single cask strength malt whisky. Taken directly from specially selected sherry casks it is bottled as simply as possible without the use of modern filtering methods or the addition of water. The three main characteristics that distinguish Aberlour a'bunadh from the other single malts are: Original Cask Strength means that the whisky is bottled at the strength of the cask, which in the case of the first batch of a'bunadh is 59.6%. Not diluted, the whisky possesses a greater aromatic complexity. Most malts of the old days were cask strength. Not Chill-filtered. Today most malt whiskies are chill-filtered to prevent the whisky becoming cloudy when adding water or ice. This process, which did not exist in the 19th century, removes some richness and mouth feel as well as some fruit and sherry character. Aberlour a'bunadh is a true replica of the old days' malts. Only the best Sherry Butts, which previously held oloroso, have been selected by Douglas Cruickshank, Aberlour's Distillery Director. These casks are the rarest and the most precious used for whisky maturation. Again, they were used in the old days when sherry was imported from Spain in casks which were then left empty sitting in UK ports or ships. A 19th-century-style whisky matured exclusively in Spanish oak Oloroso sherry butts, then bottled at cask strength. Dark, luxurious and powerful; a superb after-dinner malt. Colour: Deep, rich amber. Nose: An intoxicating aroma of mixed spices, praline and spiced orange, harmonising with rich, deep notes of Oloroso sherry. Taste: Orange, black cherries, dried fruit and ginger, spiked with dark bitter chocolate and enriched with sherry and oak. Full-bodied and creamy. Finish: Robust and intense, with bitter-sweet notes of exotic spices, dark chocolate and oak.Aberlour a'bunadh is currently available in France, UK, Duty Free and is soon to be exported to other countries around the world.

With water: Nose:Fruity – bananas, soft fruits – strawberries and cream. Floral, herbal notes. Palate: Charred wood, toasted, nutty – linseed. Again slight creaminess. Body: Light. Finish: Subtle – clean.

anCnoc (pronounced – a-nock) 12 Years Old is renowned the world over, a must have in any whisky drinkers collection. Some thirty years ago, Spanish and American Oak casks were laid to rest in the shadows of the Knock Hill in the traditional earthen floored dunnage warehouse of the Knockdhu Distillery. With time and crafting under the watchful nose of the Master Distiller, anCnoc 1975 has matured into a finely balanced dram, with remarkable depth and complexity. Non Chill-Filtered Nose – Rich, smooth and well balanced. Sweet with fruit overtones and hints of vanilla. Colour – Rich amber. Taste – Smooth and full bodied with a long lasting finish. Sweet with sherry and vanilla notes.

Ardbeg Ten Years Old is a very special bottling for the Ardbeg distillery as it is the first non-chill filtered whisky in the Ardbeg range. Chill filtering isn't a bad thing, in fact it created real consistency of product when the whisky industry was a little more 'hap-hazard' than it is today. Ardbeg Ten Years Old is whisky with none of the goodness taken out and as good as straight from the cask. Who would believe that back in 1981, the distillery fell silent and was mothballed? Fortunately in 1997, to the delight of fans all over the world Glenmorangie plc rescued Ardbeg and a team of dedicated souls set about repairing and reviving the distillery (not to mention repainting it!). Now, once again Ardbeg flows freely.

Nose The undiluted nose is deep and rounded – chocolate caramels and barley sugar combine with dates, raisins and smooth sherry notes. Later, you find leather and linseed oil. With water the sweetness gives way to malted honeycomb, with flowering currants emerging through the smoky sweetness of a well-fired fruit pudding. Taste Sweet, chewy and oily with a silky mouthfeel. The flavour is initially sweet, revealing fruit cake and treacle. This is followed by smoked barbecued or honey-roast food with the slightest hint of olives. Finish Again long, both sweet and dry with honey, treacle and a trace of lint.

Colour: Pale yellow. Tasting notes, undiluted: Nose: Closed. Sweet, malty notes with a smoky medicinal edge. Floral aromas also present. Palate: Smoky, sweet – fudge/toffee, malty and husk flavours develop along with a peaty/medicinal element. With water: Nose: Sweet, malty – milky coffee aromas with a touch of birch wood. Medicinal note never far away. Palate: Smoky – a touch metallic with some ozone character. With malty flavours and a subtle citrus fruitiness. Body: Rounded. Finish: Smoky with a roasted malt flavours. Cask Type: Refill Bourbon Barrels. Style: Full flavoured with an intense smoky character.
