Rich aromas and vibrant flavours of juicy red cherries, ripe plums and warm spices burst from this delicious blend of Tempranillo and Shiraz. With its subtle hints of oak from cask ageing you can enjoy this smooth fruity wine on its own or as the perfect match to succulent roast meats and rich pasta dishes.

This wine has a dense, deep red colour, shading to cherry at the edge and a seductively, nicely open nose with intense blackberry and cassis aromas and a slightly floral note reminiscent of violet. From a round and crisp attack with a fine structure of already well-rounded, creamy tannins, it develops an ample and expressive body of red berry fruit with a touch of something mineral. A seductive wine, its undoubted qualities display all the complexity and harmony of an exceptional vintage and the promise of greater richness to come. Grape: 55% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc.

Garnet cherry-red in colour with aromas of stewed fruit, wood, and spicy nuances – a lot of character and a long finish. An elegant wine that is a wonderful complement to beef rib roast, sauced meats, casseroles and aged cheese. Aged for five years (two in oak casks, three in the bottle). In addition to a 400 acre Estate vineyard, the Bodega Juan Alcorta sources grapes from an area of almost 4700 acres. Most of the vineyards consist of old vines, over 25 years old, and mainly of the Tempranillo variety. The vines are arranged in plots, and are carefully selected for each wine. The vine growth cycle is carefully monitored and a series of growing guidelines are laid down for each estate. Elena Adell, has been involved in the project for the new Bodega Juan Alcorta from the very beginning, in which an ideal setting has been created for elaborating and enjoying wine.

The cabernet merlot blend takes inspiration from the classic red wines of Bordeaux. Cape Mentelle has developed an international reputation for long lived cabernet and this blend seeks to capture the quality of varieties that, when blended with small amounts of petit verdot, cabernet franc and malbec, create a well rounded, full and rich style. Appearance: Dark Cherry. Nose: Lifted blackcurrants with mocha, dried tobacco leaf and hints of lavender lying underneath. Palate: A concentrated palate led by fresh currants and ripe cherries. Generous texture and fruit weight are complemented by savoury oak, creating a long, even palate with fine delicate tannins. Food Pairing: Indian spiced lamb rack. Cellaring: Drink now to 2017. Grape: 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 2% Malbec.

Appearance: Deep garnet with purple hues. Nose: A ripe and savoury nose of red currants, violets, dark plums and light mocha oak. Palate: Full bodied cabernet with the classic depth and richness of Cape Mentelle. Ripe blackcurrant and mulberry fruit with rich couverture chocolate, subtle nutmeg and cinnamon spices. There is a slatey bright acidity and a long palate supported by fine cedary tannins. Food pairing: Roasted pigeon stuff ed with porcini mushrooms on a bed of Puy lentils and an accompanying rich jus. Cellaring: Will reward cellaring until at least 2020.

Vinification: Must was fermented 12 days between 25-28C, followed by a 10 day post fermentation maceration. 40% of the blend was aged 8 months in one and two year old French barrels; 60% of the blend was aged in stainless steel tanks. Bottled in January 2005. Tasting Notes: Colour: Deep purple violet. Nose: Fresh Red fruit aromas (plums, cherries) with delicate notes of oak. Mouth: Attractive and full, with elegant, silky tannins that persist to a long and pleasant finish.

Similar to Sammarco but even bigger and longer lived. A mass of dark fruits, tannins and oakey notes. This wine will live for the next 20 years at least. Saturated ruby-purple with a tiny clear rim. Graphite, blackberry, cassis and marischino cherries on the deep, potent nose. Black fruits, plum preserves, sweet oak and licorice permeate the palate. Succulent and juicy with abundant glycerin, round tannin, sufficient supporting acidity and a lengthy finish. In Parker's words, 'The Sammarco on steroids.' He has awarded vintages with 98 & 99 points!

Dark ruby colour. Very refreshing aromas of red berries mixed with tobacco and vanilla. Ample and well-structured. Dense with a tight structure. Well integrated oak note and elegant tannic structure. Good persistence. Food Pairing : Game (pheasant), poultry and all the classic cheeses (Epoisses, Langres). The Vintage 2006: The weather at the start of summer was quite demanding. However, the sun appeared at the end of August and continued throughout September. The harvest commenced in mid-September in perfect conditions. Careful selection of grapes in the vineyard and winery have produced beautiful wines with very pure aromas. Aged in French oak for 12 months.

Ruby red with purple tinges. Intense aromas of red berries 'en confiture' with a hint of spice. Lively with a well-integrated acidity. Well-balanced, harmonious, generous with well-shaped tannins. A super 'everyday' Burgundy, ideal with braised and roasted meats, as well as meat and sauced pasta dishes. Soil: Clay-limestone. Site: Grapes are exclusively sourced from select vineyards in the Cote de Beaune and the Cote de Nuits, with 25% from the village of Marsannay.

Bright red colour with purple tinges. Intense aromas of red fruits (raspberry, red currant), violet and spices enhanced by an outstanding vanilla note. To be enjoyed with warm starters, white meat, matured cheeses. Soil: Limestone with clay. Site: Selected plots of vineyards in ote de Beaune villages, mostly Pernand-Vergelesses, Auxey-Duresses and Ladoix. The vintage 2002: The harvest took place at the end of September, several days after the official beginning of the harvest in order to obtain the best possible maturation of the berries. Excellent weather conditions prevailed in August and September and hence the good quality of the grapes. A severe pruning had been carried out in July 2002 to limit yields. Ageing in oak casks during 18 months.
