This superb example is made from a perfect harmony of Chianti’s Sangiovese grape super-charged with a little Cabernet Sauvignon - for a magnificent hearty red that fans of power-packed wines will adore! Founded in 1938 by the Barbanera family this stunning winery spares no expense on their wines. Current winemaker Simona Barbanera insists on using premium hand-harvested fruit from the winery’s best vineyard sites. The wine then undergoes a lengthy slumber (over eighteen months!) in fine oak barrels before it’s ready for release. The result is amazing! Ripe and concentrated (thanks to its five-star vintage) with abundant brambly-fruit and vanilla flavours. A perfect partner to hearty Italian cuisine.
