This is a beautiful syrupy Cabernet with lots and lots of fruity ripe plum. Laithwaite is the main supplier in the UK and he describes it as having a hint of mint. I didn’t believe it until I tasted it, but I would say definitely minty. If you’re not a tannin lover this wine won’t offend you but it’s got enough to give it complexity without making you wince. Chocolate, and even a touch of pineapple (now there’s an unusual one!) add to the wonderful comfort of this night-time wine
