All our wines from the charismatic Andrew McPherson are full of fruit and richness … indeed, he is the mastermind behind the customer favourite The Full Fifteen. Andrew likes to reserve the very best vats of wine to part of his ‘Family Series’ range. This chunky Cabernet is named after Andrew’s entrepreneurial father, who tried his hand at being a radio announcer, navigator, airman, professional fisherman, duck farmer, publicist, publisher and sawmill owner, before he finally settled on wine! He set up a winery in the prestigious Hunter Valley in the pioneering days of 1968. Andrew decided not to join his father straightaway, but travelled the world to gain wide experience. Indeed, he designed and managed the building of several wineries throughout Australia, Europe and America. He also became an expert at processing orange juice, an experience which helped him understand the process of cool-fermentation in wines. After a number of prestigious posts within the Australian wine industry, he came back to his roots, settled in Nagambie, Victoria, and set up his own winery. A little oak-ageing has lent broader flavours and extra spicy complexity to this cassis-rich Cabernet.
