Wine Officially Now the Elixir of Life

Of course we all knew that wine is the elixir of life, that fabled liquid that we tipple evey single day. There has been loads of research into the health benefits of red wine,  essentially now proven to be the work of resveratrol which is found in the skin of the grape. I’m no expert, but I do have a wine science degree and have studied the properties of the grape in depth, and I’ve always wonderd why white wine was never induldged as a similarily healthy alternative, as it to contains resveratol.

It seems now that researchers from the University of Connecticut in the US have gound that white wine also provides some of these health benefits, such as greater protection against heart attack.

While these studies are more than likely not absolutely conclusive, it bodes well for the global wine industry as a whole.  Since I make my living from wine, and also consume plentiful amounts, this sort of news is certainly welcome, and just proves what we knew all along. Wine is absolutely the Elixir of Life.
